This series presents comprehensive tables displaying the results of the 2004 Revision of the official world population estimates and projections prepared by the Population Division of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. It presents the key demographic indicators for each country for the period 1950-2050. The tables are accompanied by a brief text presenting the highlights of the results. This is a second report in a three-volume set. It presents the age and sex distribution of the population data. The first volume contains comprehensive tables presenting demographic profiles for all countries of the world, while the third volume is devoted to an in-depth analysis of the results obtained. The report provides crucial demographic information and population figures for the coming assessment of progress made towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
